Hello,

I am shopping around for a cd/mp3 player.  I believe I have decided to go with Alpine.  I was looking at the 7995.  But I noticed that the 7894 has the same specs just a lot cheaper.  Has anybody listened to both of these units to tell if there is a noticeable difference?  The only thing I can see that's different is that the 7995 specs mention that it has premium capacitors.  Also I was wondering how the crossovers are set up on the bass engine plus and the bass engine pro.  I guess I'm asking what are the crossover points, slopes, etc.  Thanks for your help.

they are variable cross overs on that deck for high pass and low pass.. I have the 7995 in my truck and wouldn't have the 7894.. it's a much cleaner sounding deck.. they put a lot more into the amplified section of the 7894 which the 7995 doesn't have.. it's preamp only.. if you have amplifers, it's the deck to go with.. I believe all the features are the same but if your into SQ, go with the 7995

I have the 7897 Phantom face and i think it has all the features you could ask for.  It also has a mobile hub hookup for your cell phone.  You can cut off the internal amplifier to make the deck run even cleaner.  Definitely take a look at it.
