My problem is- from the alarm system it has a positive and neg. wire input for the door trigger, but my neg. wire door trigger is not working. anyone know how i can use the positive wire input to trigger a neg.door output with a relay

If your pin switch at the door is not working, then you have no way to activate a relay. Your best bet would be to replace/repair the pin switch. If that is not an alternative, then You could install a magnetic switch in the door jamb......Just don't use a magnetic switch to directly turn on any interior lites. Magnetic switchs do not like current loads. You can use the magnetic switch to trigger a relay, which could then be used for both your interior light and alarm trigger.

I took the diagram from the relay page and modified it for this purpose: (assuming that your factory interior lite is a negative trigger)

Just a thought..........

Hey webguy, I think Redline was saying that his (-) trigger on his alarm wire was not working and he needs to use a reverse polarity diagram to convert the (-) trigger wire from the car to a (+) output so that he can use the (+) input wire off his system. If I am right here is what you need to do ( but if I'm wrong, please tell me and I will correct this post ):

Go to this link : https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/install_notes/Converting_Outputs.jpg and use the NEGATIVE INPUT------>  POSITIVE OUTPUT Diagram

I guess "redline" will have to clarify what he meant by his "trigger not working". Alas, the woes of technical writing! Either way, one of us should be able to get him in the right direction. He'll just have to come back and reiterate......

By the way, I just checked out your Velocity Install at your website. Pretty trick!

No problemo... if for any reason any of the members think that the information that I have is incorrect, please tell me. It's better to second guess the information and see a mistake that I have made, then let someone take wrong advise and damage something or worse, hurt someone.
