what's the difference between an AGU and an ANL fuse? advanteages? disadvantages?

I have an old agu fuse that malfunctioned. It melted the case and part of the wire, and the damn fuse never blew!

thats funny i had that happen to a atc/ato fuse on the amp. it melted down and became one with the fuse holder and never blew.

I used to see that all the time with the "installer grade" and the RF agu fuses. The solder where the fuse met with the end "cap" would melt away and would no longer make contact.
