Hi, I have a avital 6501, I installed all the parts my self, but have a small problem, I connected the trigger wire to the dome light wire, so when the door opens the the light triggers and so does the alarm, the problem is when I get out the car (98 dodge stratus) the light turns on and when I close door the light has a dim feature, so it dims close, and i guess the alarm thinks there still is a signal so it beeps a lot, and some time goes off, is there any was to fix this, also i never could figure the lighted entry do I connect the wire to the same spot, any input is apperciated.

I am not 100% clear about what is going on, When you shut the door and arm the system, are you saying that the dome light is triggering your alarm since it takes tiem to dim?  If so, you can try to pulse that wire with your door lock wire to shut it off when you arm it.  Diode isolate it so opening your door wont lock your doors.

Make sure that you have the "white w/black" lead (on the Avital) grounded. Also check the factory door trigger lead (yellow - located below 6-pin connector on the fuse panel) to make sure that it goes to ground when the door is closed.
