I would like to install a remote starter on a 2001 Caravan. I have seen several great posts here on the wiring diagram for this project including using a relay to trigger the second starter wire (PURPLE / Brown)with a 180 ohm resistor.

I was wondering what the power rating of this resistor should be?

According to the Ohm's Law page:

Watts=Volts*Volts/Ohms=12*12/180=144/180=0.8 Watts

Should I use a 1 Watt resistor for this? Does anyone have any experience with this?
