I was wondering what kind of material I could use to substitute for dynomat. I dont have the money for dynomat right now lol.

eDead (www.edeisgnaudio.com) is probably the only thing you'll be able to afford, other than peel-n-seel (roofing shhh from lowes, homedepot, etc. its supposed to be basically the same thing but its asphault based and will probably stink shhh up)

Does liquid bed liner work? I was curious if it does and how good does it work?

Truck bed liner works great. easy to put on. it blocks heat ( not for use with direct flame) too. I sprayed the backs of my drop lights and they stay cool on that side no matter how long they stay on. good stuff. It also comes in all diff colors. your results may very.
