Hi guys I just recetly installed CVA 1005 on my car with DVA 5205 and CHA 1214, I got a problem with 1005 is that whenever I turn on my headlight the screen will get darker, I tried to adjust the brightness and it doesn't really help, my question is, could it be my battery? or my alternator? or could it be the wiring problem?

Any info would be appreciated

Thx

Where did you tap into for the constant and the switched ignition sources ? Check your ground as well for the CVA & DVA CPU's to ensure of clean and solid ground.

Thx for the reply Jeff, btw I didn't do the installation myself so I'm not sure how to answer your questions, so what you are saying is that it could be the wiring problem? but it's really weid though, how come it only happend when I turn on my headlight?

Some cars have dimmer switches which automatically dim interior lights for night driveng-is it possible your amp is wired in to the dimmer system?

take a quick look at the manual regarding Dimmer feature.  it's probably set to Auto, it will automatically dim the display if the parking lights are on.

Press the SOURCE button, the main menu appears on the display.
Press 5(DISPLAY) button, the Display mode screen is displayed.
Rotate the rotary encoder and select "DIMMER"
Press the 3(AUTO) button to activate the Auto Dimmer
Press 1(OFF) button to deactivate the Auto Dimmer mode to keep the background illumination of the monitor bright
Press 2(ON) button to keep the background illumination of the monitor dark

it's a 1999 honda accord ex v6, I'm not sure if the car comes with dimmer system or not, I will have to check on that, btw I'm gonna ask my installer tomorrow about it, what do you guys think I should ask him or tell him so he can detect the problem more easily and faster? like what could be wrong besides the ground and the dimmer system etc...??

Thx a lot

i had the same problem wiht my deck. it had a dimmer in it, everytime you turn the headlights on , the deck would dim, i guess its so its not so bright at night or something? i hated it, but i just changed it in the menu, check your manual, its probably an option on your deck or whatever the hell you have. and worse comes to worse, diconnect the dimmer wire from the wiring harness on your deck? (quick fix)
