I got to thinking and in order to keep PS2 removable so that i can bring it the house and use it  with rewiring it ( moving my dvd player and tv out so i can hook it up)   i am going to buiild a simple  LM 338 adjustable voltage regulator  so that i can mount the voltage reg in the truck permanently .  my question is   has anyone  here done this b4?   and will 5 amps b enough output current to power the PS2?

Why cant you use a power inverter? it causes less problems and youll be less likely to blow something up.

that would work or just buy the ps2 car lighter adapter. you could even splice it to 12volts, with a fuse of course. im guessing you have the slim ps2?
