i need some basic advice from the wisdom of the the12volt.com community.
should i lose my spare tire to accomodate a very much desired sub-enclosure?
1995 850 Turbo Sedan, daily driver, shared by me & girlfriend. If i am driving & should have a flat, i could change it, but would she?...no!...We have roadside assistance, but what does that mean? they will come & put on the spare? they will tow to a shop? is it a bad idea to toss the spare for the sub?
i dont want to do anything stupid, but id be sweet to hide all 3 cu.ft of encluse under that deck!
As long as you have AAA or roadside assistance, should the unfortunate event occur that requires your spare. I don' t think bolting the sub as a spare would work to well :) Oh most roadside assistance places will put on the spare, or tow you to the nearest shop. Usually they will allow 3 tows per year before booting you from the program.

Personal opinion is never lose the spare. There are almost always other ways to build a sub enclosure.

Tell Darwin I sent you.
I've been sick lately, sorry I won't be on much.
I say loose the spare onto the top of a false floor. I fiberglassed into the well and built a false floor and placed the spare ontop of it. If it's not for show, then do it this way.

I agree and have done that for a few people as well. Worked out well.

You know you have the right amount of pressure when your eyes start to water! Now you've got Juice!
Why not lose the spare and carry a can of tyre weld with you. This way you'd be able to limp to the nearest garage to get your tyre replaced or repaired.
However, tyre weld wouldn't work with a badly damaged tyre so the tow truck would need to be called if bad damage happens
the tyre weld is a great idea...i forgot about that stuff....but my tires are low-profile & those tend to blow out the side walls (yikes) which might not be helped by the foam!! whoa!
im gonna do the well & tuck the tire ontop of the deck, maybe get a tight sack for it made, to keep things clean. the amount of room down in the well is too great to ignore & very inefficient for the tiny spare...
it aint for show, but still gotta take pride! awwww jeah.....thanks everybody !!!!
