So this afternoon we had a nicely used Eclipse CD5423 come in the doors.

Hint #1 -  Person had purchased it for $20.00.

Hint #2 - All rca cables bucked off.

Hint #3 - No wire harness and unit hardwired.

Hint#4 - Unit locked up.

End result, after pulling out the electronic serial number from the unit, a phone call to Eclipse shows that it was reported stolen over a year ago. We sold this original unit and I remember the customer that we sold it to. So the ESN security did it's job, my customer had his unit replaced at no charge and the theif got zippo, nada, scratch. We also have a visiting installer here right now, Velocity Motors is spending a week here to see how we do things out West. This was his encounter with how Eclipse ESN works from what I understand as well.

It's a small world after all.  Funny how things work out isn't it?  Forbidden...  You and Velocity Motors together must be a force to be reckoned with.  What projects are you two tackling?  Best of luck with them too.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

We are tackling a Jeep Commander. FIbreglass.......I have been sanding for days now. No dash in this thing and of course I forgot about that. So I finish one door panel up to upholstering stage and the other door panel up to rough stage and everything is looking great. Doors close perfectly, everything is lined up. Hey, where is the glove box? Put it in and crapola, the door panel hits the glove box. Stupid, stupid, stupid. So I swear alot, cut, swear some more, carve, swear alot, reglue, swear, make new mounts, swear again, stretch cloth and resin, swear again loudly, bondo and bondo and bondo, blow all crap out of store as the wind reverses direction and clouds of dust exit the bay, sand, sand, fill, sand, check....and we have one door panel at the rough stage. This was my task today. Jeff was working hard on the alarm / rs that he has almost finished up. Having the dashboard out made things so much easier to run wires and hide things. Jeff headed to bed a little early, he's up 3 hours before me and is ready for bed three hours before me because of the time difference that he is not used to. This is a monster job that would take 2 people a good amount of time to knock off, one of us is slacking a little pretending to deal with regular customers at the same time while the other one (Jeff) is hard at work in the bay. We've been taking lots of pictures as well that will be posted when time allows.

I don't know who he's talking about but I've been in my store the whole time ?!? posted_image posted_image

The project is grossly huge IMO. Great to be able to work with Rob and finally put a face to the name and business. Courtney is a beautiful place to visit from the looks it a great place to do business in as well. I'll be putting up progress pics of the project as I get them from Rob's camera and host them on my site for the other member's to see.

Also, the CD player from the customer was just hacked and the guy who brought it in pulled up in a early 90's Buick Sommerset and asks me what we can do to put in a deck into this thing. If any of you remember the Sommerset's the control deck rests on top of the center console and the tape player is below the HVAC controls. Bloddy ugly set up and on top of this asks about installing a Clarion deck into the Sommerset. What a peice of work I tell you....
