i'm interested in getting feedback from those who have used lead-free solder. how does it compare to 63/37 solder? my work is going rohs (reduction of hazardous substances) compliant next month which means we'll have to use lead-free. what temp does it melt, and how about the fumes?

I've used the lead-free stuff in the past and you really need to heat up your sodering iron to be able to get the solder to melt properly. I've also noticed that if the solder iron doesn't get hot enough the solder partially melts and turns into a thick gumbo....... really annoying!!
