i want to install a remote start.  I have a carburated car and i need to install maybe a door lock motor to pulse my throttle cable during the start  up, in order to give it that extra throttaling it needs when sstarting. how do i go about doing this?  what do i look for in a remote start most likey will get a viper alarm remote start combo..if you can help me please.. thanks

I have posted a thread about this and have seen othere threads like this, but they really have never given me anything concrete to go on. I have heard that you can use a trunk relese solenoid, but what do you use to trigger it? I have thought about using the starter wire and installing a switch that you can flip to turn it off for summer or whenever. I have thought about using a relay that would make a constant feed into a momentary by using a capacitor and a resistor where the size ofd the capacitor determines the time the relay is triggered (This way I could use an auxilary output to trigger the solenoid).

Designtech sells a carburetor kit, but i am prtty sure it is just a solenoid and some install accessories.

Some starters have a carburetor mode which I heard triggers the the solenoid at a designated time and then releases it once the tach signal tells the starter that the car is running.

I have not decided what I am going to try, and since the install is for a friend who lives ut of town I really cant test the car or look at the throttle cable and how to hook it up so I do not know what will work.

Another thing I thought of is that most american cars have an auto choke which I think requires you to press the pedal all the way to the floor to set it. That might be difficult to do with the limited stroke of an actuator or solenoid, but the stroke might be different in the engine compartment depending on how it is setup. I think you would only need to pulse the solenoid enough to set the auto choke, then the car should start fine.

I am interested to hear any other information any one has or even bright ideas.

Use and AUX channel to pulse before you start the car while using a trunk release solenoid. Also, this allows you to feather the gas at anytime to kickdown the revs of the engine posted_image
