Well, I am in love with solar electricity... Last friday, Pacific Gas and Electric came out to inspect my solar system, and install my Net-Metering meter. they were impressed, (needless to say) with my installation. Dave "Overkill-Is-My-Minimum" Dxxxxxx, has once again done better for himself than a PAID contractor would do. Even the city inspector said the same. A 2.5kW system will cost about $22K, if you have somebody install it for you, or you can save around 6-7K doing it yourself!
Anyway, I am on track to produce about 400kWh of electricity this month, offsetting over one half of my electrical needs for July... I think it is something everybody should at least look into.
After all rebates, all incentives, and all tax breaks, with this kind of electrical return I am looking at less than 5 years ROI. sa-WHEET! 5 year warranty on the inverter, 25 years on the panels! I'll be using free electricity soon!

Yep. Net-metering allows you to feed back to the grid any energy you produce in excess, turning your meter backwards.
Really cool!
