hello, i have a 1990 civic dx and i want to put in a 12 volt plug (ie. cig lighter). It didn't have one put in at the factory i guess....I have the lighter unit and the connecting wire with 2 metal prongs(if that sounds right) but i'm not sure where it plugs into. I thought it would plug in somewhere directly behind the radio/dash but i can't find a plug. There is a white box, the size of a deck of cards with a bunch of wires stuck in it, but no direct plug into it.....What do i need to do to install this? Thanks

You need to run a wire (either switched/accessory or constant) from the radio or ignition harness, and ground it to an existing ground, or a bare peice of metal.

Constant will always have 12v, so even if the car is off the plug can still be used

from the ignition harness your constant 12v wire is WHITE/ black or the accessory wire is yellow....

and behind the radio  constant 12v is WHITE/ blue and accessory is WHITE/ green

be sure to put an inline fuse where ever you decide to run power from
