I would appreciate any help with the wiring of the factory radio for a 2002 Grand AM.

I am looking for the accsorry input into the radio, so I can use this to turn on my sub, but I can not seem to find a wire which works like that.

Thanks!

Hey LuddyGT, you can use a fused 12 volt switched ignition wire as well for the amp turn on lead. Fuse it with a 5 -10 amp fuse and it will work the same, this way you don't have to take the radio out to install this wire.

Where can I find a safe/easy spot to tap into the switched ignition wire on the grand am, and what colour is the wire?  Thanks.

You can tap into the ignition wires by the steering column. There is a PINK ( 14-16 guage ) wire running down from the key cylinder. This is a switched 12 volts wire that you can use for the amplifier. If you do not want to use this wire you can go to the back of the deck and there is a YELLOW wire on the harness that will test 12 volt switched ( make sure you test this iwre ) because I think there are two YELLOW wires but only one of them is the 12 volt switched wire and the otehr is a speaker lead wire.
