I did an install today ,and the guy said that he didn't like the fact that the factory security light stayed on in the  dash. can anyone help me out??

Is it the one on top of the dash or is it the one in the instrument cluster?  The one on top of the dash is for a factory installed alarm and the one in the instrument cluster then it is for passlock/security.  If the customer really wants the one in the instrument cluster to be turned off you can just pull out the light bulb that illuminates it (if it has the light bulb).  To get rid of the other one you will need a plug for it or you might need a new vent if it is incorporated into the vent.
