i recently installed a keyless&r/s in an 06 chevy suburban.

the cust. states that the vehicles message center displays an open door.

the equipment is a prestige aps686 r/s with keyless entry and a dei 457gw

i did not do dome lite supervision

i did do horn honk ,flashing lites, and door locks that operate via the 457g.

why is this happening?

Is it showing this after he remote starts then opens and closes the door, inserts and turns the key then hits the brake?

If so, it's the 457G sending a door trigger for rap shut down. This signal is sent when the 457G receives the falling edge of the ground-out-while-running signal from the remote starter.

In theory, you can send the door trigger out from the 457g through the pins 30 and 87a of a relay, connect 86 to the brown acc wire at the ignition switch and connect 85 to ground. This way when he inserts and turns the key to run, the relay will interrupt the door trigger signal going to the BCM. Use the brown acc because it's not required during remote start thus it won't have an impact if the remote starter times out and wants to do RAP shut down.

I just did an '05 a couple of weeks ago and I used a 457G, but I caught each door trigger wire and diode isolated them away from each other. I don't know if that helps, but I was unaware that the 457G would take care of the door triggers by using the databus. I'm still pretty new to the whole databus interfaces.posted_image
