i just purchased a 6 disc changer, pioneer to match my pioneer head. and instead of paying to have it installed, i decided to have a swing at it myself, probably first mistake. well, i was looking for a place to plug the power in and decided that the head had a battery line on it, why not tap into that. so i did that, turned the car on and nothing happened. hm.. so i took it off of there. suddenly the head doesn't turn back on!
cripes. well, now i have the changer plugged into the fuse directly, it turns on and checks the discs and all that, and the head still doesn't work. have i fried it? what should i do to test and find out? has avoiding $60 and 2.5 hours of install time cost me a stereo?
thank you so much

I think all you have done is blown a fuse. Check the fuse on the power lead of the deck and the fuse on the deck if there is one. if o.k., check all the fuses in the vehicle. There may also be a second fuse panel under the hood of the car. check all of these also.

There is two fuses for your radio, a memory 7.5 amp usally under the hood and a 15amp ingition one inside the car. Now on a pioneer cd changer you have a red wire and a yellow wire, plug the red wire into a ingintion source and the yellow into a constant. .
