My bench tester is having issues. Whenever i hook anything into it, it shorts out and the power light goes out. This happens as soon as i touch the ground to whatever is being tested. Then 10 seconds later, it powers up. It seems to me that theres a short somewhere but I took the lid off and it all looked clean and the cables are not cut or burnt. Any thoughts?

An easy way to tell if its the transformer or the componets is just discount the trasnformer from your circuit and hook it straight up to a voltmeter.  See if the transformer dies or stays alive.  If its alive then something with your circuitry is bad...  I would assume the transformer is bad though.
