Im wanting to see what the VDC output and amerage is.  Im not exactally sure how to check this.  I think I make a voltage divider with some resistors and check it but as for the current, how do I put a max load.  I guess I can short it out but not exactly sure how to...  Any help would be appreciated.

I recommend you do not do this at all, especially not "shorting it out!"  Go to an auto electrical shop for assistance.  What's your purpose for doing this test?

I need to really see what the current is.  I can assume the coil puts out between 15k - 20k vdc.  I would imagine the amps are very little.

Car ignition coils are not as dangerious as they sound.   A wall socket is much more lethal then a ignition coil.

Im building a tesla coil and need to know my max amps to help me finish the rest of build.

I found some more information.   I get a pretty close measurment of the VDC if I use this equation by jumping a spark.

V = 30pd + 1.35 kV, where d is in centimeters, and pis in atmospheres.

But I would imagine that the inline resistors as a voltage divider will work and give a more accurate reading on the multimeter then guesing the gap distance.
