Hello ,

We have been in business for 6 yrs now and I want to start going into the dealerships now. We have the resources... Product, Employees, Truck Tools etc......

I am having a few issues though.  I do not know what to charge for say alarms because I do not want to over charge or undercharge. If I were to go in I would look unprofessional asking what other companies charge.

Other issue is how to get them. Does cold calling works or door to door?

If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated

They  need to see your face. On the phone your just another dude looking for a buck.

What I did was appeal to their desire to make money, and showing them how YOU can help do this. You best be ready to "give a little" to get em.

Offer doing a couple of job's and they pay when the rig is sold. That gives them the opportunity to see the profitability of what you do for them.

There will allways be a guy, or another business, that will take it in the shorts to keep YOU from getting into their pockets.

Customer service, doing the job 10 minutes after you hang up the phone (or sooner) They allways seem to call needing it done yesterday!

Video products for new cars, and keyless for all, and radio "upgrades" for the used lot. Be carefull with remote start and security.

Go to the guy in F&I, offer him some motivation, and let HIM/HER sell the idea of doing business with you, to the boss.

Just some things I have run into over the years.

offering spiffs to salesmen or managers is a good way to get in with a dealer $20 or so to the salesman that sends you the work is usually plenty i add the $20 into my price so im not losing anything. Service is definately more important to my dealers than price as long as your pricing is somewhat competitive they'll be happy to do buisness with you
