Anyone ever use the Harbor freight solder gun, or the pry tools?

Just wondering on the quality, if there worth buying

Never used the gun or the pry tools, but have bought 15 or 20 other tools from them and have never been disappointed.

I hear they're OK, never used any myself, there isn't a Harbor Freight anywhere near here.

I do know someone on explorerforum bought a HF balljoint press and it went to peices on him the first time he used it tho

I got a chance to go into the back once and they had a four foot hgh pile of broken and returned power tools. Craziest thing I ever saw. Haven't bought a power tool from them since.

If you buy a tool from them, make sure you buy an extra one for backup bc it will break on you...LOL. Happened to me coupl eof times but I don't complain bc they will just exchange you another one. Who in their right of mind would think their product will last long time.

Great place to buy tool if youre doing projects as a hobby.

Sure I use them all the time...I use my horizontal bandsaw as a coat rack, my 110volt drill as a door stop, my sockets for throwing at the neighborhood kids, and my heat gun for a wheel chock! Not much good for their intended use but I have found creative alternatives.

Seriously save yer pennies and at least buy craftsman, dewalt, makita, weller or some sort of quality brand name.

...End of my two cents (which incedentally will buy a 200 piece HarborFreight tool set);)

I agree..I used their tools, but they all seem to break even their stools did not stand up to time.

not get the job done...appologize to customer...drive out to buy another tool...pay for same tool twice...drive back to shop...finish job.

Not the best course of action in order to stay profitable I think.posted_image

I have a tone of their stuff, and love it
Sometime I buy stuff to keep around for those times where only that one tool will work,
Obviously these are not professional grade, but will get the job done.
a few things that have come in real handy for me
14" straigh and 90 dregee pliers
the scurity bit set
the 19" flexible coil shaft with the push botton on one end/and the grabing claw on the other (this kit also come with a 19" coil/shaft with a magnet at the end.
(yeah I loose stuff in crazy to reach places posted_image )
the hvlp sprayer they have is great for primer, and even decent for a top coat for a daily driver that's parked on the street (in nyc where it gets bumped into every day posted_image )

I can go on and on

but when I need serious tools, I have my snap on sockets (which by the way are made by the same compnay that makes COBALT brand for Lowes)

if it's something you will only use a few dozen times, harbor frieght is great bang for the buck, and when you loose stuff or people borrow it and don't return it, it's no biggie
