hi i own a very ancient alpine cd head. i have one problem with it. the display works but is not backlit. is there a seperate connection for this.  i  can see the display if i shine a light on it but otherwise can. it has been in and out of a few cars and looks to be missing a few connections. i read somewhere that a orange and white wire is for illumination. i dont have on of those, and if i did its gone. could it be anything else. please help. thanks

It sounds like the Illumination bulbs are blown. You can order replacement bulbs here: https://www.pacparts.com/scripts/SelManuf.cfm?id=GUEST&name=GUEST&Cfid=185463&CFTOKEN=40490863

*Note- these bulbs are small and usually have to be soldered to the circuit board.

Hope this helps
