Hello,

I have the wire for the VSS signal (from the Rostra site), but I don't have access to a scope to check out what the signal on that wire actually is... Is it a 0-5v pulse signal  where the pulse length changes with speed or is it a sinusoidal signal where the frequency/voltage of the signal changes with speed? I've heard that both types of outputs are possible... Does anyone know?

Andrew

its a 0-5V square pulse train that changes frequencies with speed. The faster you go, the higher the frequency of the pulse. If you wanna check, put an LED at the VSS wire and ground the negative lead. Drive around at different speeds and see how the pulse changes frequencies.
