Does anyone know where I can get the VSS for an 2005 toyota 4runner? I read a post for a 2003, which said it was at the ECU behind the glove box. Does this also work for the 2005?

Yes it's the same - PURPLE / red at the second plug from the bottom.  I also have found it in a 2007 behind the climate controls right behind the radio.  There is a white plug with like 3-5 PURPLE / red grouped together going into it.(it's a junction point for the VSS, they are all common - 1 in, 3-4 out) You can use ANY of those PURPLE / red if its there.  You have to take out the climate controls anyway to get the radio out so take a look. Oh, and its not plugged into the climate controls, its behind it after it is removed, below radio and to the right. Hopefully its there on the 2005 also.
