I am having a lot of trouble with this cruise and still have not gotten it to work. Here is what is wired so far, and I would like to double check that I have the correct VSS wire.
Rostra 250-1223:
Brown - Pink/White on vehicle
Red - Grey/Pink (+12V @ Brake)
Violet - WHITE/ Blue (@ Brake)
Blue - Grounded at this time
I am using the 250-3421 control arm and I have checked that it is working according to the manual.
I used the 250-4369 vss adapter and have it wired as the instructions said.
For the VSS, I connected to the Brown w/ 2 Green stripes wire at pin 32 of the bottom connector of the PCM (upper-left of engine bay). Is this the correct wire?
I have the gain set to mid, 38600 pulse, 6 cylinder/low, squarewave, automatic, closed circuit.
I am getting absolutly no reponse from the cruise control. It will not set, it will not accelerate using the control arm.
I have checked the ground, I connected it to the factory ground bolt near the air intake. I checked the brake and power connections using my DMM. I have not checked the VSS because I don't have a good method to do so, (did not have my oscilloscope with me).
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go next? Verifying the VSS would be a big help to me. Any assisstance is appreciated.

Rostra mentions that the correct plug in the ECM that has the VSS wire is a green plug. Depending on your cruise control unit, some have a self-diagnostic mode. I'm not sure if the 250-1223 has this. Using this will tell you if you have a VSS signal. Also check that with the ignition off you have less than 5 ohms resistance to ground on the violet brake switch wire. The cruise doesn't care if you have 12 volts on this wire when you press the brake, only that it has a ground when the brake isn't pressed. If you have brake light bulbs burnt out, the cruise may not work. All your other settings look good. If you had to change any dip switches though, make sure you turn off the cruise switch and the ignition, otherwise the changes won't take affect.

I got my old Id working again. Thanks for the response. There is no green connector. I really struggled with which wire was correct, all I got was the fourth connector, pin 32, light GREEN / WHITE or GREEN/ brown. I guessed the bottom connector and pin 32, and the wire color was close.
The cruise does have a self-diagnostic mode, but i couldn't get it to work. Maybe I should try it again.

Thanks, I have looked at that, but there is no green connector so I was hoping someone who has done one before could verify that I got the correct wire.

Confirm all other circuits first using a volt/ohms meter. If everything checks, you can check to see if you are getting AC voltage on the VSS wire. You shouldn't have to move the truck very far to see a reading on the meter if you are on the correct wire. Check the other plugs in the PCM to make sure that there isn't another possible wire to use. My listing on the PCM for either motor (you didn't mention which size motor) show a yellow/pink wire in position 32 of a plug and it is connected to the transmission output speed sensor.
