I have succeeded in fitting a Audiovox CCS-100 cruise control unit to my Rio 1.4 auto 2008.
The VSS tap can be found on pin 3 of the diagnostic plug by the driver's knee.
No need to connect the tach wire.
Set the PPM to 4000.
Set the sensitivity to medium.
Set the tach feed to coil.
The unit performs very well although it can be a bit noisy so best not to fit it to the firewall.

Chris, how well does it work? I just installed one also in my 08 kia rio automatic and it will only kick in over 80km/hour or 50mph. under that it won't lock in. also kicks out on hills easily. what did I do wrong i wonder.

can you tell me the settings for all your dip switchs. thanks, dennis in canada

I have succeeded in fitting a Audiovox CCS-100 cruise control unit to
my Rio 1.6 auto 2008. Should work on any Kia or any small import or
domestic vehicle.
The dip switch settings below should remain the same for all automatic
vehicles. For manual transmission vehicles or ones without a VSS
signal, simply follow the instructions included with the unit as the dip
switch settings will be slightly different for a manual transmission.
Purchased off ebay for $110.00 Dealer wants $475 locally to install.
Did it myself and saved $365.00
The VSS tap for the 2006-2008 Kia Rio can be found on pin 3 of the
diagnostic plug by the driver's knee. For other vehicles, please google
or check with your dealer for the location of your vehicles vss wire.

Set the sensitivity to medium.
Set the tach feed to coil.
The unit performs very well. Locks on solid at any speed.
Does not drop out or lose speed on hills. Automatically kicks out
of overdrive on hills to keep set speed. Resumes overdrive on flat
surface.
Here are the dip switch settings for the CCS-100 for the Kia Rio.
Sw1 - On
Sw2 - Off This sets ppm to 4000
Sw3 - Off
Sw4 - Off
Sw5 - Off Sets vacuum sensitivity to medium
Sw6 - Off
Sw7 - On

I, too, succesfully installed one on my 2009 Rio base. Basically it was by the instructions with a bit of a twist. Mines an 09 with a manual tranny. Maybe thats the difference. Hooking up the blue wire to the negative side of the coil worked for me. It kept the engine from over revving and would kick off the cruise. The dip switches went like this. SW1-on, SW2-off, SW3-on << this was different. With it off the cruise only worked above 2900 rpm and it held according to the rpm not the speed. SW4,SW5 and SW6 all off and SW7-on. posted_image

< color=#ff0000>I have found one big difference in the wiring. I had both of the gray wires (one from the interior switch and the gray/black wire from under the hood) attached to the vss wire under the dash. My speedo quit working so I dicsonnected the one from the interior switch and it started working again.
