I need to know how i would go about testing to make sure that a particular wire is actually the VSS. Is there any way to do this with a multimeter?

Set your multimeter to read AC volts. Put the gear in car and start to move/drive. It should jump up around a volt or so when you start moving and drop back down when you stop..You should only have to move a couple feet or so. Just try and keep an eye on where your going and not just on the meter!
