Diesel or Gas? If Diesel, there's a hydraulic switch on the master cyl for the cruise. The switch is closed with brakes released. I've had trouble with two of these switches on Diesels.

If Gas, I have not a clue on a F350.

Have you ever figured out the reason why the cruise control wouldn't turn on? I git 2008 Ford-F350 and I'm having same problem. The motor is 5.4L gas.

Holy thread necro. This was a response I made on the day I joined. There have been developments in the meantime.

There was a massive recall regarding the hydraulic switch on the master cyl that affected about 30 million Fords. The "fix" was a harness with very low amp fuses in it that would protect the wiring if the switch developed a short. This harness is installed adjacent to the switch, and plugged into the existing wiring and switch.

The 2008 F350 was eventually included in this recall. Check both fuses in the add-on harness. Use a VOM, as the fuse element is too small to reliably eye-ball.
