Hello,

I have an LT1 V8 from a 1993 Z28 installed in my 1983 S-15 Jimmy, and now I am working on installing my cruise control; The cruise control module is from the same car.  The only part I am concerned about is pulling the brake pedal signal (as the service manual states), "low through the center high mount stop light".  I've read about Camaro owners restoring operation of their cruise control by simply replacing the burnt out bulbs in their third brake light.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome this?  I've thought of installing a resistor to ground the brake signal, simulating the resistance across the bulbs of the third brake light.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The reason it pulls thru the lite is so it "sees" ground. If you put in a resistor it won't change states from ground to 12 volts. Just put it to the cold side of the brake switch and try it.Should work fine.

That makes sense; I'll check with the service manual again and wire the brake switch as such.

Thanks
