   Just read some information that I thought I might pass along. From the DELTA AUTOMOTIVE REPORT August addition, the 2004 Vortec 5300 V-8 will have electronic throttle. The vehicles  involved are the GMC 1500 and 2500 Sierra, Chevy 1500 and 2500 Silverado, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, Caddi Escalade and the Chevy Avalanche. Hope this helps someone in advance.

The Chevy Trailblazer is already electronic throttle and all you need to do to add cruise is install a swith that has cruise control. Hopefully i will be the same procedure for the listed 2004 models as well.

You are correct. When you go to install a cruise all you have to do is add the new switch. You can purchase them from a GM dealership or Rostra will also sell them.
