I'm new to this car wiring stuff. I'm actually not wiring a cruise control but this is kinda similar. I'm wiring a trailer brake controller. I need to hook it up to the brake light switch. On my 2000 Tacoma, this is virtually inacessible. I see on the wiring charts that I want a GREEN / WHITE wire. Is this the ONLY GREEN / WHITE wire? If I tap into A GREEN / WHITE will it work?
Thanks,

The GREEN / WHITE wire is the switched brake light wire. This wire will show 12 volts + when the brake pedal is depressed. Use a digital volt meter to test for the correct one. It is found at the brake switch above the brake pedal. Unplug it to access the wire better to mske your connection.

Thanks, I found the wire easily enough. It was probably quite amusing if anyone was watching me: I had my feet up at the headrest and my head wedged under the pedals. That's the only way I could get to it.
Now, anybody know the best place to hook up reverse lights for this trailer?
Trace the wiring from the tailights and follow it to a place where you can make a safe and proper connection. In most pickup trucks the harness from the tail lights runs under the truck. You may want to find the area where it enters the inside of the truck or use some sort of weather packing to insure a good and durable connection right at the tail lights themselves. The reverse light wire should be reb/black (+) in the driver's kick panel.

<after a suitable amount of procrastination time has passed>
Would you happen to know if this wire goes to the engine compartment or does it end in the kick panel? (I've already run a wire from the back of the truck to the engine compartment.) Is there a fuse somewhere?
Thanks
Andy
there's a green white at drivers kick panel for brak ewire just test to make sure
