Howdy- trying to install an Audiovox CCS-100 cruise unit- have it installed, and all wiring connections check out as per troubleshooting guide... unit powers up, but that's it. Where is the VSS wire? Is it the 2 pin connector on the tranny, under the battery tray, GREEN/ orange wire? Thats what i hooked up to, but i was not sure that was correct- anyone confirm this? also, tech support rep said to just ground the unit's tach wire since it is an automatic tranny- does that sound right? Also, in hooking up a remote starter last week, i couldnt find a 12v. wire for the parking lights. Found one with like 1 volt, which works for the remote starter to flash the parking lights, but it is not enough to backlight the cruise's dash mount control switch. I hooked up to an ignition wire, so the switch is always lit now, but can anyone explain why i cant find a 12v for the parking light circuit? Is it run off a relay?? Thanks for any help, cause i aint no einstein

I'm showing GREEN/ orange (4 pole) @ the connector on the trans so that sounds right. As for the tach wire I usually don't do anything with them on automatics, but depending on the unit I guess you may need to ground it if that's what they told you. Double check your brake connections hot/cold make sure you don't have them backwards. Also check and make sure all of your brake lights work. What are you using as a ground for your module it is important that it has a solid ground. Last are you sure the throttle cable is secure on both ends?
As for parking lights here's what I'm showing:
RED / Green (+) (Left side) & Blue/Black (+) (Right side) @ the drivers door sill harness.
OR
GREEN/ Blue (-) @ the headlight switch
OR
RED / Blue (+) In drivers kick panel
Good luck,
Mike

Thanks Mike, Those are the same as what i have- still havent got the unit to work though. Ground for servo comes right off the battery- all my wiring checks out as per the install manual (Audiovox CCS-100 w/ aux. vaccuum tank), but i am still not sure about my VSS connection, since i am not getting an LED indication at the servo like the manual says. It actually seemed to accelerate momentarily, when that button was pushed, but it will not hold a steady speed. In another post, it was mentioned to check for VSS wire, set meter to AC volts, should be no reading when not moving, and should increase as speed does. My GREEN/ orange wire does not do this, nor any wire except the tach wire. I tried running with just the tach wire, but no luck there, altho i'm not sure where to set switch #7- ECM or coil.

OHH- what do you mean "throttle cable secure at both ends"? Have securely mounted to throttle body- and servo is securely mounted to strut tower...do i have to pull the servo apart to check the cable inside of it?

Went to Kiatechinfo.com and found some different info. The VSS or wheel speed sensor looks to be mounted near the passenger front wheel. Light green\yellow is the signal wire and light green\red should be the ground. Can also be found at ECM- i believe its under the dash- pin #18 is signal- light green\yellow pin #12 is light green\red -ground. Or can be found at main harness, pin # 13 is signal, light green\yellow wire; pin#3 is light green\red ground. Hope this helps...

Well, i hooked up to the wheel speed sensor wire and guess what- nothing. The servo LED does not flash which indicates i have no signal from the sensor... Back to the drawing board.

Found the VSS and the cruise is working... Located it on tranny, beneath airbox- 3 pin connector, wire colors are yellow, black, and light GREEN/ red. The GREEN/ red is the wire to hook up to. Best of luck, Willie
