Howdy,

I have a Rostra Cruise control of some sort that was installed by the previous owner into my truck. It does not work right now. I don't know why it doesn't work, I am assumming it has to do with the dip switches set wrong. Here is what I have, 99 F250 Diesel with the 6-Speed Manual. I don't know what other info I need to give so let me know if there is something else I need to give out.

My next thought is, if I can't get the darn thing to work, rip it all out and buy the Ford version. I think I read somewhere on here that I can just buy the switches themselves and not the whole steering wheel?

Rostra made 2 or 3 Cruises for that year.........Can you get Model Number off Cruise or Describe it??

Looks like ROSTRA....250-1176 (16R ) with 250-3421 Handle
Vacuum Cruise ( eecchhh ) Check ALL Vacuum hoses first. May have Vacuum Pump since it is Diesel. Check your Handle Connections & 2 Power Fuses under dash. Handle wires are:
RED = 12 Volt +....
BROWN = 12 Volt + when Switch is ON......
GREEN = 12 Volt + when Set Button Pressed.....
YELLOW = 12 Volt + when Resume Button is pushed...
Should have:
BROWN wire to Ignition or Fuse Panel
RED to + side of Brake Switch
VIOLET to cold side ( - ) of Brake Switch
BLACK to GROUND
GRAY to VSS
BLUE to TACH or GROUND

Also check your Throttle Cable connection

P.S. Does your SPEEDO work?

Sounds like this thing isn't even worth using then.

I think I am going to ditch it for the Ford system.

The speedo works just fine too. :)

Don't get me wrong..........These were GOOD Cruise controls, but now ROSTRA has a Full Electronic Cruise 250-1223 that works GREAT.......NO Vacuum....NO Vacuum pump.......
Someone else may need to correct me, but I didn't think the change of Steering Wheel on this year Ford will give you Cruise..........I think that is just for 2003 & up.........
