I built a 48 ford streetrod using a GM column and wiring from an 84 S15 blazer.  Also used the speedometer and cruise control hookups, cruise module and the servo.  Pink/black wires are where they are supposed to be.  I can't get it to work.  Diagram I have shows a component other than the VSS and the Module with 2 wires, one from the VSS and one from the module.  Does anyone know if I can eliminate  that component and connect those 2 wires together?  Any ideas?

You can use a speed signal generator in-line on the speedometer cable coming out of the transmission instead of trying to use the original VSS lead. If need be, you can use the GM lever with a Rostra cruise control to maintain the OEM look you have now.  https://www.rostra.com/
