Just got a Nordskog digital speedometer. I am a complete amateur when it comes auto eletrical stuff, so maybe someone could help a bit...

My jeep trail rig runs on propane, so I don't have any emissions stuff & no computer at all. Just a couple necessary wires under the hood. Its a 12volt system. Have a hall-effect 3-wire vehicle speed sensor(VSS).... 3 circuits: Ground, signal, and 5 volts supply from PCM (Powertrain Control Module) Jeep computer.

How can I get that 5 volt supply/voltage drop to the VSS with no computer?

Thanks.

it looks like all you want to do is step down from 12 volts positive to 5 volts positive to power up your pulse generator, this should work, go down to your local radio shack store and get a cigarette lighter adapter that puts out different voltages, they usually put out anywhere from 9 volts to 3 volts, set it on the right voltage you need and you should be in business, you might want to get a female cigarette lighter plug also so you can hardwire the adapter and stick it behind the dash somewhere.

hope this works for you, good luck, steve
