I have a 1979 4 cyl turbo Ford Mustang with manual transmission and tachometer. This is bare bones car to say the least.

I am trying to figure out which Rostra kits will function with tach input only. Actually I'm hoping the 250-1223 kit will work, so I don't have to deal with lack of vacuum & reservoirs due to the turbo.

I do not want to install magnets on the driveshaft. I understand the Audiovox kit works fine with tach signal only.

I'm not so stupid to engage the cruise in lower gears, so varying road speed in different gears for the same RPM is a non-issue.

The SCS/Frigette 3342 cruise control will do what you want.
It can use the tach signal as the VSS.
Extremely smooth and accurate cruise.
