my wife has a 91 firebird, which i bought a used enclosure for hoping to only have to recarpet to match her interior. of course that is never the case... i looked over the box to make sure it was sealed tight first, only to find out that the guy who built it had all the measurements right as can be, but sealed it with acrylic caulk, which wasnt sealing it at all. he used 1" staples(no screws) in 3/4" mdf, and used elmers school glue to glue the box up. wow, he really is an idiot, sorry Alex, if you read this i am talking about you. so i took the carpet off, scraped the box and literally pulled the top right off, and rebuilt it the right way. i will post some pics tomorrow night of the new progress...

So after long hours of thinking, i decided to make this box fit into the cars personality a little better.... hope you like it.....
I started out by inspecting the box....

here are a few pictures of the enclosure as i tore it apart. we decided to have the box house 1 12" sub and where the othere cut out is would nest the amp. we are working with a p.o.s. jensen amp and a 12" rockford fosgate punch, i know outdated, but they hit pretty hard.

here is the box stripped down and ready for a facelift. i decided to surprise her when she got home from work with a little personalization on the enclosure, a 3d pontiac logo.. she loved it and it really added to the box..

and i know you are wondering how loud the system is, the old box i had in there made the mirror rattle so much she took it off, the new box made the mirror fall off, so i bought some factory mirror glue and put it back on and it happened again, so now i gotta find some good epoxy to hold that sucker on there...

soon i will be fabricating a cover for the amp and a grill for the sub. i will be seeing you here later.

Nice turn-around. I like the added logo as well. I think you should have had your friend present to learn from his mistakes though.

thanks, it took me about 45 minutes just to scrape the box maybe an hour or 2 to reglue, caulk, screw, and fill in the hole on the right. and logo and glue about 1 hour. 4 to 5 hours total with rewiring and clean up. i had it done overnight, just didnt have the time to get em on here right away. i would have had him here to see it, but he kinda dissapeared after he got fired where we used to work for lighting someone on fire by accident, i said it before, he's an idiot.

the person, he thought it would be funny to put penitrating oil in and air wand and blow it into an open flame, usually when people did that there it would make a pop sound really loud and a small white flash, but he put it in there 3 or 4 times and let it soak in the air hose and shot a 6 foot flame past some guys head. his hair curled like a fiber optic.
