Hello Guys. First off I do apologize as I am sure what I need to know is in this forum already. To be honest it is just a little overwhelming to try to figure out how to attack this problem. I put in a double din head unit into a 99 eldorado recently and really need some help make this install look better. Attached you will see the current state. I just took the single din aftermarket bezel and hacked into it, which created a good enclosure vertically for the install, but as you can see had to try and create some spacers for the side and they kind of look like crap. Is there a way to make this look professional? A point in the right direction would be much appreciated!

If your happy with the function but questioning the looks just smooth it out with some body filler sand it down, primer and paint the same color as your interior and that should give it a nice custom look.

If it aint broke...fix it till it is!
body filler? total newbie here so when you say body filler what exactly do you mean (what type of product)? Sanding and primer should be simple enough but as far as painting what kind of paint would I use?
Essentially... Bondo (non reinforced). You can find just about anywhere.... If you go to an automotive shop, you can probbly find better stuff there, but Bondo will work ok for the most part.
As for paint... that will vary. For the interior I would look for a Matte Charcoal Gray color paint. A good one is VHT Charcoal Gray Penetrating Dye... you can find this one in the more specialized shops, but worse cse scenario, head on to SummitRacing.com. It will work like a paint as well as a vinyl dye. The charcoal gray looks really close to the Factory GM "Charcoal".
