ok well im takin my speakers outta my doors and im takin the guts out of my center console and putting the speakers there and the woofers will be in an enclosure that slides in there. its hard 2 explain exactly what im doin but my main question right now is how much airspace would 2 5.25" speakers need. I think i have about .6 cu. ft. to spare. if i do put both speakers in there i will lose some bass most likely but im not worried about that bcuz i have subs im just not sure if it will lack sound quality if theyre in that little space. Is it alright to continue with this or just come up with a new idea?

Typically, small speakers like that do not need a closed airspace behind them (box).

Why don't you put them in the doors, next to the tweeters?

theyre in the doors right now i just dont like them in there i wanted them on display. But thanks 4 answering my question about the air space.Having the speakers in an enclosed space will improve the sound quality even if they are smaller speakers, shouldnt it.

Usually, not. Most small speakers are designed to be used in door panels and rear decks, not enclosed boxes.

Doing this will sound bad, IMO.

Also from a strictly SQ point of view if you do what i'm thinking you are talking about you will have one speaker pointed towards you and one away this will give you horrible imaging IMHO as the speaker pointed away from you will be quite delayed as it will have to essentially bounce it's sound off of the passenger door and then come back to the listener. Traditionally the door locations, or near it, are going to be where speakers sound the best in a normal installation. My suggestion is if you want the speakers to be seen make pods for the doors or kick pods and go about it that way.
