Hello Everyone

Haven't been on here in a while.  I've been really busy.  Infact, I am still working on my Impala Center console 1 YEAR LATER!  I was hoping i could get a little advice.  I seem to be running into a couple of problems.  The console may not look like anything great but when the trim ring is on it actually looks cool.  I just need to get it finished.  The problem I am running into is that i have been using bondo and resin to form the gauge pods.  The console has been sitting for a year, and the bondo on the pods began to crack across and chip really bad.   Totally unacceptable.   Today I got out there and hit it with primer sealer just so i could take a closer look at it in one color instead of multicolored.  I know i am going to have to sand more, but I don't know what to coat this thing with to keep it from cracking in the future.  This pod is molded to the console.  This is for a 96 impala SS.  I need some advice on how to get this thing properly finished.

Dan

Go over it with duraglas, until all the pits are filled in , Lastly apply regular body filler to smooth out everything, of course sand between coats.............Duraglas or any other fiberglass reinforced filler is for STRENGTH............regular body filler is for SMOOTHING and EASE OF SANDING NO STRENGTH in regular body filler....................

Dura Glass and Rage Gold body fillers work best together.

Is it all bondo and resin or is there any fiberglass in there?

It's all Bondo and resin. Except for the pillow case I stretched to make it.
