Hey guys i am new too this forum and was just wondering if fiberglass reacted to duct tape it would be nice being able to lay duct tape over my mold and saving some money from buying gel coat

so the question is can i lay duct tape and be safe from messing up my mold?

use masking tape and turtle wax.

Personally I would use a mold release wax that can stand higher temperatures since fiberglass will heat up.  Im not endorsing this company(even though they have got my business for all my supplies, i like their products) but USComposites has this type of mold release wax you would need.  Just using regular wax isnt the way to go; these mold release waxes are made special for this.

i have made many molds and have never run into problems.  worked at one of the top ten shops in the nation and what did they use ????  turtle wax and masking tape
