i have a dodge dakota, 2005.

i am trying to pull down the headliner cause im black seuding it. but i cant get the overhead info center down. any clues? i didnt wanna pull too hard. but i know thats how the older dakotas were.

also if anyone knows where i can get the material that would be helpful too. the fabric stores around here are full of people who look at me like im crazy when i say im putting suede on the headliner, pillars and door panels.

lol.  My local fabric store always gives me funny looks when I walk through the door.  First thing is I lie out my !@#$ and tell them that I'm picking some up for my wife.  That seems to calm the old biddy's down and they become quite helpful.  Ask for the faux suede.  In my local fabric store, which seems to be a large chain, Joan Fabrics, the suede is on rolls where they keep the vinyl and headliner material.

Is your console the one that goes from the front all the way past the driver with the extra pockets, garage door panel, etc.?

no, its just got the info display(compass, d.t.e. mpg. etc.) and two map lights. its about 9 by 8 inches. its just a little pod. there is a single philips screw in the front of it towards the rear view mirror but i cant figure out how the back part comes down.

There will probably be some screws/bolts behind the light cover's or other removable panels.
