Ok, I am working on a rotating screen mechanism. It is designed to spin 120 degrees to reveal the screen and then spin back when shut off.

Question is this. There is a little bit of play in the screen because of the bearings used etc. I was thinking of using a door lock actuator to fix it in place in the open and closed position, but inorder to work the actuator would need to remain energized.

Is this a bad idea and if so does anyone have any other suggestions.

dont use a door lock actuator. if it is energized constantly rather than momentaraly it will burn up. use a linear actuator instead.
