so my speaker boxes are almost done, its been slow going, but im at the point now where i need to figure out how to mount/secure and finish them.
Ive got two small boxes, going into the trunk of my 96 cougar, right behind the seats.
First of all, what would be the best way to secure the boxes so that they dont rattle around/vibrate etc?
Secondly, how should i finish the boxes? I want to "blend" them into the trunk so it doesnt just look like 2 carpeted boxes sitting in my trunk.
Im thinking of having my trunk lined with rhino liner or some similar bed liner. Another thought was to have the boxes coated as well.
Ive also been considering making some kind of fiberglass cover that will slide over top of the boxes, but again the whole issue becomes blending it in with the trunk so it looks nice and professional.
Any suggestions?

Pic of my trunk, looking straight on from the back of the car.
Here is my speaker box, this one is the "right side box" .... sits on the passenger side of the trunk, with the tube pointed towards the back of the trunk.
There is another box, that mounts the same way on the driver side of the trunk.
So all in all, there are two boxes, and 7" of space between the boxes.
They will site right up against the wheel well/seat back.

I have used self tapping screws before with success. With something that small you could possibly use a high strength velcro.
I have to ask, what's with the tube? Are you planning on fiberglassing over it or something?

yes and no..... the tube serves as a way to give me more space inside the actual box(I'm aiming for 1.75Ft3 ... i think ive about got it) also, the way they mount, if they were flat wouldn't allow me to get my spare tire out or let me remove the spare tire well cover.
I would like to make a sort of fiberglass cover that i could put over top of the whole deal and blend in with the trunk.
I want these boxes good and secure. Ive been considering welding tabs to the trunk and using tnuts in the box so i can physically bolt it to the car, but im nto sure if thats a really fiesable idea.
