I picked up a can of bondo fiberglass resin. It came with the hardener.

Last night, I did a small test and mixed 1 oz resin: 12 drops MEKP
The problem is that while i am stirring the mixture it gelled up pretty fast but stays sticky.
Is this normal? should the resin with hardener gells when you stir the mixture?

waaayyyy too much MEKP there. back it off a little. the ambient air temp is also important as well. i.e your gonna use alot less MEKP in the summer than you would in the winter.

o_____o

Ease off the hardener... Just a lottle

If it is from Bondo, then there will be some basic instructions for how much to use. They also like to mark their hardeners with the relative amount needed for the job. ie Half the can is used, use half the hardener. But I do not recommend mixing more than a quart at any time. To be honest I do 1/2 quart mixes at most at a time. I would rather mix many smaller amounts that get fully used rather than mixing a larger batch and not being able to use some (or a lot) of it.
