dual action, random orbit sander differences?

What is the difference between a Dual  Action Sander and a Randonm Orbit sander? When sanding down a enclosure do the do the same? Any input with be greatly appreciated. Thx

They both will work for sanding down an enclosure.The difference is the dual action goes up and down and side to side in a very tight pattern providing better more thorough sanding.the random orbital sander does just what it says moves in a random pattern,it will still work though.If your going to buy one for work every day use then get a dynabrade or a hutchins if its a one time deal any one will work.

a random orbital sander works better in my opinion, a random is like said previously random so it is much harder to make divits and sanding marks, so when your planning on painting the box it works nicer
