I have two Alpine type Rs on the way now and I am looking to make a fiberglass enclosure for both of them in the trunk of my 1998 Honda Civic Hatchback.
This is my first build and my question is how do I use up most of the trunk space but keep the required box volume for those subs?

The box volume for each Type R is 0.7-1.0 cu. ft.

Thanks a lot for your help

Why do you want to use up most of your trunk space? all that you need is 2.0 cu ft. .If you want you could add an amp rack ,cap rack,tv,etc...

i want to make a nice looking enclosure so i dont wanna just use a small space, but i am thinking it should be pretty good because the trunk isnt THAT big and im leaving enough space to take the spare out.

a website i looked at said 13 cu ft but thats probably top to bottom, im going to the top of the seats.

Are you thinking ported or sealed enclosure? Are the type r's 10's or 12's? You could do a sub enclosure in the spare tire area and a seperate amp rack behind the seats. You might check out www.cardomain.com there a re probably hundreds of civic hatchback setups to give you some ideas.
