I'm building a custom box for 4 10" woofers in my extended cab Chevy and was wondering what the pro's and con's were of a fiberglass box vs a traditional box.

There are a couple of advantages for building a fiberglass enclosure. Fiberglass enclosures can utilize space better then an enclosure made out of MDF. This is very good for small spaces. This is especially important in trunks where there is not a lot of space available.

Fiberglass enclosures are also going to be much lighter then an enclosure made out of MDF. One of the last main benefits over an MDF enclosure is that they look much better. You can finish them nicely with paint of vinyl for a really unique look.

Sound-wise an enclosure made out of MDF will sound the same as an enclosure made out of fiberglass assuming they are both made well. The only major disadvantages of a fiberglass enclosure are the cost and the amount of time required to make them.
