I know select products sells abs plastic that is perforated for forming speaker grills and was wondering if there was a cheaper better source?

I want to form my own "grills" for my kick panels similar to the ones supplied with Q-logic kicks.

ive never done it with plastic but a preforated aluminum it is possible.
the aluminum is available in lots of places i get mine from a local screen door manufacturer.

you then get mdf and cut a inner circle that is width of the speaker and is completely full and two outer rings slightly bigger and thinner then compress the aluminum between the two mdf rings by screwing them tight together ever 2cm or so the idea is its stuck hard . then using a press like a 10ton hydrolic ram or a truck you can lower onto it with a jack maybe a car or worst case smack it with a sledgehammer may work. and you place the full inner ring inbetween the others so when you crush it it forces the aluminum to draw around the mdf rings will give you this effect :). the hardest part is finding a way of mounting it.
